1Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and the features you choose to use.

a) Reading without an account

You can read every story without telling us anything about yourself. Preferences such as the theme or text size are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.

b) Parent, guardian and teacher accounts (18+)

When an adult creates an account we collect:

• Name and email address (or the name and email from Google, if you sign in with Google)
• A password, which our sign-in provider stores in encrypted form; we never see it
• The date you confirmed you are 18 or over and accepted our Terms and this policy

c) Activity in your account

To power your dashboard (reading history, saved stories, listening playlists, badges and insights) we store which stories were read or listened to, when, and the stories you saved.

d) Premium payments

Payments are handled by Creem, our payment provider. We never see or store card details. We keep your subscription status, plan, renewal date and the Creem reference numbers that link your payments to your account.

e) Free classroom access requests

Teachers who request free access give us their name, school name, country and school email. We never ask for information about students.

f) Messages you send us

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message.

g) Automatically collected information

This is used in aggregate to understand which stories are popular and to keep the site fast and reliable. See Cookies & Analytics below for the tools involved.

2How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Provide your account features, such as saved stories, playlists and insights
• Process Premium subscriptions and free educator access
• Respond to messages and requests
• Understand which stories families enjoy and improve the site
• Keep the site secure and prevent abuse

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, we do not show ads, and we never build advertising profiles of children.

3Cookies & Analytics

• Essential cookies and storage keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice. They are always on because the site needs them.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
• Google Analytics only runs its cookies if you click Accept in our cookie banner. If you click Reject, or do nothing, it stays off.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not record screens or sessions.
