Hazel and the Friendship Potion
When Hazel tries to use magic to make friends, she learns that the most powerful magic comes from being herself.

In the quiet little town of Broomsville, where crooked cottages leaned gently under the stars, lived a small witch named Hazel.
Every evening, Hazel stood by her bubbling cauldron, stirring softly as moonlight slipped through her window.
Her spells sparkled.
Her potions shimmered.
But her heart felt a little empty.

“Everyone has someone…” Hazel whispered.
“…except me.”
She opened her old spellbook and slowly flipped through its dusty pages.
Suddenly, one page began to glow.
Hazel leaned closer and read out loud.
“The Heart Potion… to make everyone love you.”
Her eyes widened.
” she said with a hopeful smile.
“I’ll finally have friends!”
That night, under the soft glow of the moon, Hazel began mixing her potion.
“A giggle of joy, a sprinkle of glow…” she chanted.
“Let love and laughter start to grow!”
Her black cat, Tickle, peeked nervously from the table.
“Mew?”
The potion began to bubble and shimmer like a rainbow sunrise.
Hazel reached for the final ingredient.
A jar labeled Moon Sugar.
She poured one spoon.
Then another.
Then—
A third.
The potion glowed brighter than ever.
The whole cottage filled with sparkling light.
Hazel blinked.
“Hmm… maybe a little extra sweetness is fine.”
The next morning, Hazel carefully baked a batch of heart-shaped cupcakes.
She added a drop of the glowing potion to each one.
“They’ll finally like me,” she said excitedly.
Tickle tilted his head.
“Mew-mew…”
At school, Hazel stood quietly in the courtyard.
She held out the cupcakes with a shy smile.
“I made these for everyone…”

Her classmates looked surprised.
” said Luna.
“Wow, thank you, Hazel!”
Everyone took a cupcake.
They smiled.
And something sparkled softly in their eyes.
At first, everything felt wonderful.
” Bram said.
Hazel giggled.
“Aw… stop!”
But they didn’t stop.
They followed her everywhere.
Through the halls.
Across the courtyard.
Even into the library.
“Hazel! Hazel!
Soon, things became too much.
Her classmates surrounded her, offering gifts, compliments, and endless attention.
” Hazel cried.

Even the broomsticks began flying after her.
“Fly with me, Hazel!”
Tickle puffed up his fur.
“Mew!
Hazel ran all the way home and slammed the cottage door shut.
“I just wanted friends…” she said, catching her breath.
“Not followers.”
She grabbed the potion bottle.
“I’ll fix this.”
But as she tried to pour it away—
She slipped.
CRASH!

The bottle shattered on the floor.
A pink mist filled the room.
Glowing hearts floated everywhere.
The potion covered everything.
Her books.
Her broom.
Even Tickle.
Tickle blinked with sparkly eyes.
“Mew… love you, Hazel!”
Hazel groaned.
“Not you too!”
Slowly… the magic began to fade.
The glowing hearts drifted away.
The room became quiet again.
Hazel sat by the window.
The sky outside had turned soft and cloudy.
“Maybe…” she whispered.
“…I was already enough.”
A single tear rolled down her cheek.
It glowed softly as it fell.
Just then—
Knock knock.
Hazel looked up.
At the door stood Luna, Bram, and the others.
They held messy cupcakes and shy smiles.
” Luna asked gently.
Hazel opened the door slowly.
“I’m sorry,” she said.
“I shouldn’t have used a spell.”
Bram shook his head.
“You didn’t need to.”
“We liked you before the cupcakes.”
Hazel blinked.
“Really?”
Luna smiled.
“We just didn’t know how to say it.”
Hazel felt something warm grow inside her chest.
This time, it wasn’t magic.
It was real.
Later that day, they all gathered around Hazel’s table.
They baked new cupcakes together.

No spells.
No potions.
Just laughter.
Hazel smiled.
“No more love spells.”
“Just friendship cupcakes.”
Outside, under twinkling lights, they sat together sharing stories and warm drinks.
” Luna said.
Hazel laughed.
“Only because of my friends.”
Tickle purred happily.
“Mew-gical.”
That night, Hazel stepped outside and looked up at the sky.
With a gentle wave of her wand, she created a glowing constellation shaped like a heart.
She smiled softly.
“Magic doesn’t come from a bottle,” she whispered.
“It comes from the heart.”
And that kind of magic…
Never runs out.
