Coral and the Sea That Couldn’t Sleep
When the ocean feels too noisy at bedtime, Coral and her friends discover how gentle sounds, slow breathing, and calm movement can help the whole sea drift to sleep.

When the sun slipped behind the waves, the sea usually followed into sleep. The water slowed. The colors softened. The coral lights dimmed like tiny night lamps. But tonight, the sea was still awake… and a little restless.

Bubbles popped when they should have floated quietly. Currents swished when they should have rested. Coral yawned and rubbed her eyes. ” Coral swam to find her friends. They were all there… floating… blinking… waiting for sleep that wouldn’t come.

Clawdius slowly clicked one claw. ” Mimsy gave a soft giggle. ” Spike stretched very gently. ” The friends stopped moving and listened carefully. The sea whispered. Then swished. Then bubbled again. Coral looked thoughtful. ” Mimsy blew a small glowing bubble. Inside it, a gentle sound shimmered. ” she whispered. ” Spike smiled softly. ” Together they swam to the quiet lagoon where the Old Turtle rested peacefully. The turtle opened one sleepy eye. “The sea listens most carefully at night,” he said in a warm voice. ” Coral tilted her head. ” The Old Turtle smiled. ” Coral slowly moved her tail, making the softest swish she could. “Like this…” she whispered. ” The water followed her movement, calm and smooth. Clawdius lifted one claw carefully. ” Spike took a deep breath in… and slowly let it out.

” Mimsy hummed a tune so soft it almost sounded like a thought. ” The sound turned into glowing bubbles and drifted gently upward. The sea listened. The currents softened. The bubbles floated slower and slower. Coral smiled. ” The Old Turtle nodded slowly. ” The friends floated close together near the reef.

The sea whispered instead of roared. The water rested. The night wrapped everything in quiet. And from that night on, whenever the sea felt too loud, it remembered how to whisper itself to sleep.
