Mimsy and the Day the Reef Got Tangled
When a long shiny something from the land world drifts into Splashy Reef and tangles around the prettiest coral, Mimsy and her friends discover that taking care of the ocean is everyone's job. Together they work to gently untangle the reef and learn that the sea is our home — so we look after it. A gentle 2-minute Splashy Tales bedtime story about environmental care, teamwork, and saying thank you, for kids ages 4–8.

In the bright bubbly waters of Splashy Reef, every morning sparkled.
But this morning…
…something was different.
The reef looked dim.
Tiny fish swam in worried circles.
Mimsy peeked out from her hiding spot.
"What's wrong?" she whispered.
Coral darted up beside her.
"Look — over there!"
A long, drifty, shiny thing had floated into the reef from somewhere far above.
It was tangled around the prettiest coral in the whole reef.
And it was hugging it much too tight.
The coral looked sad.

Tera the wise old sea turtle blinked slowly.
"That does not belong here," she said gently.
"It came from the land world."
Spike puffed up.
"I will UN-TANGLE it!"
He bumped into the shiny thing and bounced right off.
The shiny thing did not budge.
Clawdius clicked his claws.
"This is a job for teamwork."
So everyone got to work.
Mimsy nibbled one corner.
Coral pulled gently from the other side.
Spike pushed (very carefully this time).
Clawdius snipped the sticky strands with his claws.
And Tera held the coral steady with one wise old flipper.
Together —
slowly,
gently,
carefully —
the shiny thing came loose.

The coral perked up.
The reef brightened.
The tiny worried fish stopped swimming in circles and began zipping happily again.
"Thank you," whispered the coral, glowing pinker than before.
Mimsy smiled.
"This reef is our home. So we take care of it."
Tera nodded slowly.
"Things from above don't always know they're hurting us."
"It's up to us to keep our reef happy."
Together, the friends carefully carried the shiny thing far away to a safe sandy spot where it could not tangle anyone else.
By the time they swam home, the whole reef was sparkling brighter than ever.
Mimsy curled up in her favorite anemone bed.
The water rocked her softly.
A tiny fish she had helped that morning gave her one last grateful blink.
Mimsy yawned.
"Tomorrow," she whispered, "I'll check the reef again."
"Just to make sure."

And the sparkly waters glowed gently around her —
happy, sparkly, and safe.
