Sheldon and the Rainy Day Feelings
On a rainy farm day, Sheldon the sheep feels a little blue, and his friends Penny and Chuck show him that sometimes the best comfort is simply being there.

On a rainy day at the barn, Sheldon the sheep sat quietly under the leaky roof.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
A tiny raindrop landed softly on his nose.
Rainy days were usually fun.
Days for jumping in puddles.
Days for giggling under hay bales.
But today felt different.
Something inside Sheldon felt heavy.
Nearby, Penny the pig rolled happily in the mud.
Chuck the duck flipped from a hay bale with a loud quack!
” Penny laughed.
“Mud pie battle!”
Sheldon sighed softly.
“I don’t feel like it today.”

Even his favorite crunchy leaf snack tasted boring.
Chuck hurried over with a silly turnip puppet.
” Chuck squeaked.
“I’m Turnip Tina!
Penny giggled.
But Sheldon only gave a tiny sigh.
“Thanks, Chuck… I’m okay just being quiet.”
Penny walked closer.
Instead of trying to cheer him up, she simply sat beside him.
Softly.
Warmly.
“Sometimes,” Penny whispered,
“you don’t need cheering up.”
“You just need someone to sit with you.”

The rain tapped against the barn window.
Sheldon watched the raindrops slide down the glass.
Some days felt stormy inside too.
And he didn’t know why.
“I don’t want to be alone…” Sheldon thought.
“But I also don’t want to do anything.”
A little later, Penny returned carrying Sheldon’s favorite patchy quilt.
It smelled like hay.
Cookies.
And hugs.
She gently placed it over him.
Chuck whispered,
“It’s not magic… but it’s almost magic.”
Sheldon smiled a tiny smile.
“I think my heart just smiled a little.”

Outside, the rain began to soften.
A little glow peeked through the barn boards.
Nothing big had changed.
But something small had.
“Thanks for staying with me,” Sheldon whispered.
The three friends sat together quietly.
Then Sheldon took one slow, deep breath.
Penny and Chuck breathed with him.
Sometimes, when the sky feels stormy inside…
one gentle breath makes space for sunshine to come back.
The three friends sat quietly, looking at the soft light outside.

And Sheldon whispered,
“Tomorrow, I’ll jump in every puddle.”
“But today… I’m just gonna be.”
